Developed to optimise use of space on a pallet
Tip 5: Systematic modular packaging on pallets
Systematic modular packaging was developed to optimise use of space on a pallet and achieve more stability at the same time by creating a bonded stack.
The starting point is a packaging or footprint module that includes a superstructure tailored to the pallet and made up of individual, group or shipping units of packaging. These modular units of packaging are optimised for pallet dimensions of 400 x 600 mm, 800 x 1200 mm and 1000 x 1200 mm.
The overall modular packaging system results from multiplication or division of the module’s basic dimensions – a common European standard. Although North America uses ISO-pallets with different dimensions, the principle remains the same.
