Nordpack offers a variety of VCI carrier materials for this.  In our production facility, we can process VCI-treated corrugated board, creating box dividers and intermediate layers. All common films and papers are available so you can choose the ideal VCI carrier material for your specific requirements. These can be delivered as custom-sized materials or on rolls.

The VCI principle

VCI stands for volatile corrosion inhibitors. VCI active substances are compounds that feature vapour pressure in addition to their anti-corrosive properties. These VCI compounds will be released slowly from their carrier material – as shown in the animation – until a protective atmosphere has been created within the package.

The inhibitors are then deposited on the metal surface, thus preventing disintegration/corrosion of the protective passive layer on the metal. VCI paper in particular offers outstanding protective performance – without any oil! Other recommended solutions are VCI films and chips from VCI emitting cellulose.
